Charissa’s love for dance led her to take up various dance sports. She started figure skating at the age of 14 and have competed both as a Singles and Pairs skater in numerous competitions such as the National Figure Skating Championship, Interschool Ice Skating Competitions and international competitions such as Skate Singapore.

She is also a figure skating coach, certified under SportsSG National Registry of Coaches (NROC) and Singapore Ice Skating Association. With more than 13 years of coaching experience, she has groomed skaters who have won competitions both locally and overseas. Her interest in sports and science enables her to enhance her teaching with the understanding of body mechanics, while adapting her teaching methods to suit her students. Charissa was exposed to modern dance, Chinese dance and cheerleading, and continues to actively dance and choreograph for various events.

Attracted by the gracefulness of aerialists, she began her aerial journey in 2014 when she picked up both Aerial Silks and Aerial Hoop. She was soon captivated by the strength and beauty exemplified through aerial dance. One of her favourite is to spin on the apparatuses, just like how she enjoys spinning on ice. Charissa believes that dance and sports are not only important for your physical well-being, but they also train you to be mentally strong and disciplined!
